Meridian House

In a natal chart it is the Midheaven — Medium Coeli, the line the sky crosses at culmination. On the earth it is a line of longitude, which is the natal-geography chapter, literally. In Chinese medicine it is a channel of the five elements, which is the tradition the Four Pillars belong to. One word carries the whole of what is inside.

What the house does is narrow. We take three facts — the day, the hour, and the place — and compute four traditions from them independently: the Western chart, the Chinese Four Pillars, the sidereal chart, and the map of your own planetary lines across the earth. Then we write the one document that reads them together, including the places where they disagree.

The positions are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris and checked against published Rodden-AA chart data, where every body and the Ascendant match to the arcminute. The Chinese solar-term boundaries come from true solar longitude rather than a lookup table. None of that is a flourish. It is what makes a document checkable before it is persuasive, and a document that asks to be taken seriously should be checkable first.

Every commission is prepared, typeset and read through by hand before it is sent. That is why it takes two working days and not two seconds, and it is why we write to you rather than guess when something in your intake is ambiguous.

We will not fake a value to make a document look complete. Without a birth time there is no Ascendant, no Midheaven, no houses and no geography chapters, and the document says so in those words rather than quietly defaulting to noon. That refusal costs us orders. It is also the most honest thing about the product, so it stays.

These documents are a structured mirror for reflection. They describe conditions and dispositions. They do not foretell events, and nothing in them will tell you whether to leave, to stay, or to move.
